Marcia Annenberg is a painter of political subjects. Her newest work comments on mass media and the post-9/ 11 world. The paintings are Conceptual and do not depict actual events. The language of the paintings is Postmodern, since they employ appropriation.

The paintings seek to reflect the political exigencies of our time. The devaluation of international news and the increasing difficulty of obtaining reliable and objective reporting obfuscate political judgements. The avoidance of genocide in contemporary discourse, currently in Darfur, should concern us all. We must question this era of unilateral war, no-bid contracts and the suspension of our traditional constitutional liberties.
